Today the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments on a case called Cisco Systems, Inc. v. Doe which raises the issue of whether the Alien Tort Statute (ATS) or the Torture Victim Protection Act (TVPA) allows lawsuits against parties for aiding and abetting violations of international law.
