Forest Labs Pays $313M For Illegal Marketing
As reported in Pharmalot, "[a]nother week, another guilty plea by a drugmaker charged with illegal promotion. This time around, Forest Labs has pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice, distributing an unapproved drug and illegally promoting two other meds (see the plea agreement). The drugs in quetion were Levothroid, an oral med for thyroid conditions, and two antidepressants - Celexa and Lexapro. The $313 million payment includes $164 million in criminal penalties."
