Utah Sues GlaxoSmithKline Over Avandia Fraud
This is not really a torts story but since I have posted so many stories on the Avandia debacle, I am posting the headline and you can go read the full version here. The gist of it is that the Utah Attorney General has filed a lawsuit arguing that GlaxoSmithKline illegally marketed its Avandia diabetes pill and should repay the state $7.8 million, which is the amount Utah spent to purchase Avandia between Jan. 1, 2001 and June 30, 2010 for its Medicaid program.
UPDATE 11/17/10: AboutLawsuits.com has the story here.
