bill before Congress

A few days ago, Brian Wolfman, visiting professor of law at Georgetown University and co-director of the Institute for Public Representation, agreed with me in his testimony in a congressional hearing on the bill. He argued that the bill may appear to be pro-consumer, but that in reality it is a "very bad deal.” He argued that the bill would undermine public safety and would prevent lawsuits from being filed by patients who have been injured as a result of medical negligence.
