By now you have probably heard
the news (also
here) that authorities are considering bringing criminal charges against a professional hockey player for a hit on an opposing player.
Although, not a torts issue (yet!), the event reminds me of Hackbart v. The Cincinnati Bengals, which we discuss in class to cover the issue of consent to intentional conduct. In that case, a football player sued an opponent who hit him after the play was over.
